While en route to Roorkee, Rishabh Pant sustained severe injuries when his automobile hit a divider near Manglaur.

Rishabh Pant, a star for Team India, was hurt after his automobile hit a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on Friday. Pant has been admitted to a hospital where he is reportedly receiving treatment for head, back, and foot injuries. His status is said to be stable. The automobile Pant was riding in was entirely burned out in the first photos taken at the scene of the accident. In another photo, the Indian batsman is shown with a bandage on his head and significant injuries to his back.

One of the team's core players, Pant had been a member of the India XI during the last Test it had played against Bangladesh; he had contributed a crucial 93-run innings in that game that helped the team's comeback in the match. The wicketkeeper-batter missed the ODI and T20I matches against Sri Lanka and would receive treatment at the NCA, according to a later report.

Pant travelled to Dubai after the series against Bangladesh was over, when he was spotted with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former India captain. Dhoni's wife Sakshi also shared a photo of the two. According to Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Ajai Singh, Pant is believed to have returned to India earlier this week and was his route to his hometown of Roorkee when his automobile struck a divider at Manglaur while he was going from Delhi. An image from the accident, which was posted by the news agency ANI, shows the automobile completely on fire, with police officers and an ambulance gathered around the scene: Dainik Jagran said that Pant's car collided with a railing and caught fire. When the residents and police arrived at the scene of the accident, a fire truck was needed to put out the flames. Before being transferred to another hospital in Dehradun, Pant was originally treated at the Saksham Hospital next to the highway. "When the automobile struck the divider on the Delhi-Narson border, he was operating the wheel. He was brought right away to Saksham Hospital but will be transferred to Max Hospital for additional care "said a source to PTI.
