After his convoy became stopped in a road roadblock at Hussainiwala, Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to Punjab today without speaking at a rally. The security breach occurred while the Prime Minister was traveling by vehicle from Bathinda to Hussainiwala's National Martyrs Memorial.
Due to a traffic roadblock by a few protestors, the PM's convoy was stalled on the flyover for 15-20 minutes. The incident was termed by the home ministry as a "serious failure" in his protection.

His convoy opted to return without attending an event at a martyrs' memorial after the significant security breakdown.

The Punjab administration has been requested by the Centre to determine who is to blame for the lapse and to take swift action.
