Twitter founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey stated on Thursday that his biggest regret is that Twitter became a company. Dorsey was responding to a question from a Netizen about whether Twitter turned out the way he had envisioned.

“@Jack wondering what was your intent on Twitter and has it turned out the way you wanted? It feels a bit skewed leftward right now. How do we straighten it? It seems an inordinate amount of rightward-leaning Twitter users are being banned or kicked off. It can't be good for MDAU,” a netizen question.

To this, the founder of the social media platform replied: “The biggest issue and my biggest regret is that it became a company.”

On May 26, Jack Dorsey resigned from Twitter's board of directors. Dorsey has been a director since 2007, and he was most recently the CEO of Twitter from mid-2015 until his resignation last year. Following his resignation, Parag Agrawal resumed his position. During that time, the social media company stated that Dorsey will remain on the board "until his term expires at the 2022 stockholders meeting."

Meanwhile, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has reportedly subpoenaed Dorsey as part of his attempt to back out of his USD 44 billion agreement to acquire the company Dorsey helped found.

The company has sued Musk for trying to walk away from his $44 billion offer to buy Twitter. Twitter and Musk are headed for a trial on October 17 in Delaware that will determine whether or not Twitter can force the billionaire to go through with the acquisition.
