On Instagram, the company has revealed a new campaign called 'Take a Break' that will be launched in several countries, including India. Take a Break would notify users reading through Instagram that they should take frequent pauses from the site and devote their time to other activities. A notification will also be sent to users to inform them of the new addition to the platform.
Additionally, according to the platform, users "will be provided expert-backed advice to help them reflect and reset." Users, on the other hand, will be able to choose whether or not to continue receiving these timely messages.
According to Natasha Jog, public policy manager for Instagram at Facebook India, "the welfare of young people is essential to us, and we're focusing on ensuring that the time spent on Instagram is deliberate and that people feel good about it."
As a result of this, we've created 'Take a Break,' which aims to significantly enhance the Instagram experience for young people as well as their parents and guardians. In order for young people to explore their interests and find community on Instagram, we want to continue our efforts to establish a secure and friendly environment," she says.
Instagram joins with 'We The Young' to introduce the feature to India through a campaign dubbed 'Break Zaroori hai,' which stands for 'Break Zaroori hai' in English. The campaign, which will run for a month, will highlight circumstances in which young people might benefit from using this tool.
Instagram said in a press release that the 'We The Young' campaign will collaborate with creators, mental health experts, and other stakeholders to create multilingual content that will emphasise the importance of making informed decisions about the time spent on the platform and inform users on how to incorporate the 'Take A Break' feature into their social media routine.
Take a Break will be accessible on iOS immediately now, and it will be available on Android in a matter of weeks after that.
