In his talk to the Theravada Sangha during a two-day virtual event on the 'Maha Satipatthana Sutta' for Theravada Sangha, Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama hailed India as a global role model for religious cooperation in his message.
At the 'Unduvap Full Moon Poyaday' celebration, organized by the Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society, hundreds of Buddhist lamas from countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand came together to celebrate the full moon.

The Tibetan spiritual leader participated virtually from his home in Dharmshala, Himachal Pradesh, where he is a member of the Tibetan government.

"The Indian religious tradition promotes non-violence, avoiding injuring others. In India, the practice of non-violence - Ahimsa and Karuna have been practiced for over 3,000 years. So, in India, diverse religious traditions of the globe like Islam, Christianity, Jew and Judaism, and so on coexist together. India is an example, a role model for religious peace around the globe. Since I came to exile in India as a refugee the practice of non-violence and religious peace I found to be good in India," he remarked.

One of Sri Lanka's leading television channels, 'Hiru TV,' reported that more than 600 Maha Sangha representing the three main Nikayas of the country, including most Ven Niyangoda Vijithasiri, the Anunayake Theory of Malwatte Chapter of Siyam Maha Nikaya, Most Ven Waskaduwe Mahindawansa, the Mahanayake Thero of Sri Amarapura Sambuddha Sasanoday

In his speech, the Dalai Lama stated that "In his own teaching, Buddha has granted us the ability to examine it critically and not simply accept it at face value, literally. As a result, in the Nalanda tradition, there is a strong focus placed on verifying the teachings of the Buddha himself. As a result, the more you examine the teachings of Buddha using a logical method, the higher the degree of assurance you get. It is not the case that the more you analyze instruction, the more you lose track of your analyses and merely rely on faith alone. It's not like that in this case. As a result, we must cultivate confidence in the Buddha's teachings in order to succeed ".....

The Buddhist monks who took part in the event virtually interrogated the Dalai Lama on the teachings of Buddha and asked him several questions. They even raised concerns about how to integrate or interpret Mahasatipatthana in a way that is understandable to modern people and non-religious people.
