Sultry summer has here, and much like our clothes, our daily diet requires an update, as our winter appetite has begun to wane and gastrointestinal troubles may arise as the temperature rises. In the summer, water-based fruits and vegetables can be added to salads or snacks to keep our hydration levels up to par. It is also vital to avoid caffeinated beverages, as well as processed drinks and juices, which may cause more harm than good due to their high sugar and sodium content.
Summer nutrition should include probiotics such as buttermilk, curd, and antioxidant-rich foods. Homemade summer drinks can also help us beat the heat, stay hydrated, and repair our digestive systems. Garima Goyal, a dietitian, presents a list of 5 summer detox beverages that might help you stay fresh and energised during the hot summer months.

Keep it to cool for some time. Now, blend the hibiscus infused water with pineapple, ginger lemongrass and ice. Your drink is ready.
