As several countries experience an increase in instances, India's daily Covid tally has remained below the 300-mark over the past three days.

In India, Christmas was celebrated without restrictions on Sunday for the first time in two years as the government continues to monitor the Covid situation there as China's neighbour deals with what is currently being called the worst outbreak in the history of the globe. According to information from a National Health Commission study that was leaked and widely quoted, 18% of China's population, or more than 200 million people, have contracted the virus this month. Authorities in India, meantime, have been reminding people to wear masks, make sure to use sanitizers, and to keep their guard up. Mansukh Mandaviya, the union health minister, is scheduled to meet with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Monday to assess the situation, according to news agency ANI.

  3. A 40-year-old man who had just returned from China was isolated at his residence in Agra after testing positive for Covid, according to officials in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The samples will be sent for genome sequencing. Chief Medical Officer Arun Srivastava stated that the individual had been quarantined at his home and that teams from the health department had been ordered to test his family and anyone else who had contact with him.
  4. The case has received attention since BF.7, a subvariant of the extremely contagious Omicron variant of Covid, is thought to be responsible for the China Covid spike. India has so far documented four cases at the very least.
  5. The federal government and the states have been exchanging knowledge regarding Covid readiness since last week. In an effort to hunt down variations, the government has insisted on surveillance.
  6. India is not experiencing an increase in cases, while ICUs and crematoriums in China are crowded. Over the past three days, the daily total has largely stayed below the 250-point threshold.
