Following the recent announcement of a reduced four-day school week in the emirate, the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has established four new learning models for private schools in the city.
With the start of the new school year on January 3, 2022, private schools will have lessons Monday through Thursday, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday forming the new 3-day weekend (instead of Fri-Sat previously).
SPEA has authorized four models to accommodate the shortened school week, according to Tariq Al Hammadi, head of support services at SPEA, who explained the decision.
