On Thursday, a team from the pollution control department will visit Sector 29 to look for pollution from diesel generators and sound pollution from the area's frequent events.
Sector 29 is one of the city's food centers, with a huge number of restaurants, bars, and pubs that attract visitors from all across Delhi-NCR. According to the pollution control agency, a team will go to the market and look into the illegal operation of diesel generators.
After a resident of Sector 29 complained about excessive pollution levels in the area, Kuldeep Singh, regional officer, pollution control department, Gurugram, said a two-member team was formed. "We have requested the complainant to accompany the team, and a duty magistrate has been appointed, as well as a police team, to prevent any unforeseen incidents." We will not spare any offenders, and those who contribute to pollution will face consequences," Singh added.
In another development, the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) announced on Wednesday that notifications to cancel occupation certificates for 17 shopping complexes in Sector 29 are likely to be issued this week for violating regulations.
According to Sandeep Lot, junior engineer (HSVP), the administration is currently not carrying out any eviction or demolition drives after the Punjab and Haryana high court ordered that no such action be taken owing to Covid-19 until February 28.
"We will begin issuing notices soon, and a thorough report has already been forwarded to headquarters," says the spokesperson. "Action will be taken against violators, and no illegal construction or encroachment on any public place will be tolerated," he stated.
