In the three-match T20I series, Team India defeated Sri Lanka 2-1 to kick off the new year in commanding fashion. The young team, captained by Hardik Pandya, put on a strong overall performance. Almost everyone praised Malik for his outstanding performance, and former India batter Ajay Jadeja was equally as delighted with the kid. The former cricket player lavished admiration on Malik and compared the pacer to India veteran Javagal Srinath.

"I haven't seen an Indian bowler bowl in the style he is bowling right now, running in, for a very long time. The last one that comes to mind is Srinath.
