In Karimganj District, Assam, the flood situation worsens, displacing around 1.34 lakh people.

The Kushiyara, Longai, and Singla rivers flooded new areas of Assam's Karimganj district, displacing more than 1.34 lakh people. Several key stretches of the district were also flooded.

82 people have died as a result of floods and landslides caused by severe and torrential rainfall, according to an ANI report.

At least 5424 hamlets are spread across 125 revenue circles in 32 districts, including Bajali, Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Cachar, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Karbi Anglong West, Karimganj, Kok

More than 12.30 lakh people have been displaced in the Barpeta district of lower Assam, with 4.69 lakh in Darrang, 4.40 lakh in Nagaon, 3.38 lakh in Bajali, 2.91 lakh in Dhubri, 2.82 lakh in Kamrup, 2.80 lakh in Goalpara, 2.07 lakh in Cachar, 1.84 lakh in Nalbari, 1.51 lakh in South Salmara, 1.46 lakh in Bongaigaon, and 1.34 lakh in Karimgan

Meanwhile, the flood-affected districts' district administrations have set up 810 relief camps and 615 relief distribution centers, accommodating nearly 2.32 lakh people.

However, due to the current flood scenario in the district, the Karimganj administration has decided to close all government and private educational institutions till June 23.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Border Security Force (BSF), the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have begun rescue operations in flood-affected parts of Cachar district.

The Cachar district administration has banned vehicular mobility across multiple stretches due to the continual arrival of water from the Barak River into Silchar town.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) would transfer one lakh liters of diesel and petrol to Silchar today, according to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Meanwhile, the flood situation at Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve remained constant till Monday, with 25 anti-poaching camps flooded.
