The latest North vs. South argument has been shaking up the Indian film industry. Many actors have voiced their opinions on the hot topic. Shruti Haasan, the daughter of Kamal Haasan, has also chimed in on the discussion. She will soon be seen opposite Prabhas in Prashanth Neel's Salaar.

The latest North vs. South argument has been shaking up the Indian film industry. Many actors have voiced their opinions on the hot topic. While Akshay Kumar said he doesn't like it when people draw a divide between north and south Indian cinema, Kangana Ranaut said she believes south Indian films work better because they are "deeply ingrained in their culture."
Superstar Kamal Haasan recently discussed the issue while promoting his film Vikram. The performer said, "What race are you if not an Indian? The Taj Mahal belongs to me, and the Madurai temple belongs to you. You own Kanyakumari just as much as I own Kashmir." Additionally, his daughter Shruti Haasan has added to the discussion. She will soon be seen alongside Prabhas in Prashanth Neel's Salaar.

Daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti says in an exclusive interview with Times Now, "I am actually a product of the North and the South. I was raised in a multilingual household.

"I had the advantage of growing up witnessing two talents negotiate various languages and industries," the actress continues.
Shruti mentioned how she observed her parents working in various fields. "My parents and dad have both worked outside of Hindi and Tamil, which is their primary profession, and they have done such a wonderful job of navigating because art has no language."
Since I have been in Mumbai for 15 years, I have been hearing for years, "K AAP South ki actress hai," and I find it amusing. I make back-and-forth trips. Sambar rice and dal chawal are two of my favorite foods. With the exception of people asking why I don't do more Bollywood, I have never really found it to be tough. Instead, I just go where I can find the work I want to do.
"It is so lovely to see everyone just get along and be appreciative of one another. Because when I travel abroad, people just comment that Indian movies are so great and you guys shake your heads when you speak, I don't think the gap is as wide as it once was, which is exactly how it should be. The fact that we are internally splitting it was just amusing. At the end of the day, excellent work is just good work," she concludes.
While this is going on, Shruti has other projects lined up, including Salaar and movies starring Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. These parts are so different from one another, the actress admits that this is what drew her to them.
