By Tasso Konia
In the midst of a controversy over his Nepal travel, Congress leader Manickam Tagore has tweeted a video of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi engaging in a wedding tradition. "For the kind attention of ous sanghis... lies can't live long. The truth will win," the Congress leader tweeted as he posted the video. In the video, Rahul Gandhi can be seen seated among the guests cheering and clapping for the newlyweds.
A video of Rahul Gandhi partying at a Kathmandu nightclub went viral after BJP leaders shared it on social media. The Congress clarified that Rahul Gandhi traveled to Nepal to attend the wedding of a journalist friend of his.

On social media, false claims were made that the woman with whom Rahul Gandhi was seen chatting was a Chinese ambassador. As fact-checkers disproved the claim, reporting that the woman was from Nepal and a friend of the bride Sumnima Udas - Rahul Gandhi's friend - previous tweets of Sumnima Udas came to light, as the journalist had supported Nepal's map, which included some areas of Uttarakhand.
"Rahul Gandhi was reportedly at the wedding of Sumnima Udas, the daughter of a Nepali diplomat who actively supports Nepal's claim to regions of India's Uttarakhand. Why does Rahul have ties only with those who challenge India's territorial integrity, from China to Nepal?" According to Amit Malviya.
The video posted by Manickam Tagore hammers home the party's claim that Rahul Gandhi was not in Nepal for any official purpose. He came there just to attend the wedding of Sumnima Udas, who is also the daughter of Nepal's former ambassador to Myanmar Bhim Udas.
Amid controversies over the identity of the woman spotted with Rahul Gandhi at the nightclub, it was claimed that Rahul Gandhi moved out of the five-star hotel and shifted to a resort near Kathmandu.
